§ 01The agreement
By installing or using Captain’s Deck, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app — and ask for a refund within 30 days if you’ve already paid.
“We” means Multimodal Solutions (a Greek company that publishes Captain’s Deck). “You” means the person or organisation that installed the app or bought a license.
§ 02What you get
A license to use Captain’s Deck on the platforms it supports, for the seats and term you bought. Personal licenses are non-transferable. Team licenses can be reassigned between humans within your organisation.
Free trial
14 days. All features unlocked. No credit card. After the trial, the app continues to work in read-only mode — you can browse but not write — until you buy a license or delete it.
Pro license
Per-seat (1 Mac per Pro license, 5 Macs per Team license). Includes lifetime free updates — pay once, keep getting new versions and fixes.
§ 03What you can do
- Install the app on as many machines as you want, but only run it concurrently on as many as you have seats for.
- Use it for personal or commercial work — same license, no “business edition” gotcha.
- Write plugins, themes, or scripts for it. Distribute them for free or for money. Keep your IP.
§ 04What you can’t do
- Reverse-engineer the app, except where local law explicitly grants that right.
- Redistribute the binary, your license key, or anything that lets others run it without paying.
- Use the app to do illegal things or to harm others. We won’t police what files you copy, but we won’t help you with malware either.
- Remove copyright notices or pretend you wrote it.
§ 05Refunds
14-day full refund, no questions asked. Email [email protected]. After 14 days we don’t refund — but if you genuinely cannot get the app to work and we cannot help, we’ll always make it right.
§ 06Updates & changes
We update the app on our schedule. We try not to break things, and when we must, we say so loudly with at least one minor-version of warning. We may discontinue any feature with reasonable notice (typically a major version).
If we ever stop selling Captain’s Deck, we will release a final “perpetual” build that does not require license verification, so existing customers can keep using it indefinitely.
§ 07The legalese (still plain)
Warranty
The app is provided “as is”. We try very hard to make it work, but we cannot guarantee it will be free of bugs, suit your specific purpose, or work flawlessly on every macOS release. If something breaks, we’ll do our best to fix it.
Liability
We’re a small studio. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months. We’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages — lost data, lost work, lost time. Always have backups; that is the price of admission to working with files at all.
Indemnity
If you use the app in a way that violates these terms or the law, and that gets us sued, you cover the cost.
§ 08Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes get emailed to every paid user with 30 days notice. You can refuse the new terms by stopping use of the app and getting a pro-rated refund of any unused time.
§ 09Law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of Greece. If we end up in court (we hope not), it happens in Greece. EU consumers retain all rights granted by their local law; nothing here is meant to override those.
