System Requirements

  • macOS 13 (Ventura) or later
  • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) or Intel Mac
  • 50 MB of disk space
  • Internet connection for license activation

Step 1: Download

Download Captain's Deck from our website:

  1. Visit www.captains-deck.com
  2. Click the "Download Free Trial" button
  3. The DMG file will download to your Downloads folder

Step 2: Install

  1. Open the downloaded CaptainsDeck.dmg file
  2. Drag Captain's Deck to your Applications folder
  3. Eject the disk image
  4. Open Captain's Deck from Applications or Spotlight (Cmd+Space, type "Captain's Deck")

First Launch: macOS may show a security warning. Click "Open" to confirm you want to run the app. This only happens once.

Step 3: Start Your Free Trial

Captain's Deck includes a 14-day free trial with all Pro features unlocked:

  • No credit card required
  • Full access to all features
  • Trial countdown shown in the app

After the trial, you can continue using basic features for free, or upgrade to Pro for $19.99 (one-time purchase).

Step 4: Activate a License (Optional)

If you've purchased a license:

  1. Go to Captain's Deck → License... in the menu bar
  2. Enter your license key from your purchase email
  3. Click Activate

Your license is tied to your machine and can be deactivated and moved to another Mac if needed.

Updating Captain's Deck

To update to the latest version:

  1. Download the latest DMG from our website
  2. Quit Captain's Deck if running
  3. Drag the new version to Applications, replacing the old one

Your settings, bookmarks, and license will be preserved.

Troubleshooting

"App is damaged" error

This can happen if the download was interrupted. Delete the app and download again.

"Cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified"

Right-click (or Control-click) the app and select "Open" from the context menu, then click "Open" in the dialog.

App won't launch

Ensure you're running macOS 13 or later. Check System Preferences → General → About This Mac for your version.
